Recently, Professor Zhang Fan from the College of Marine Sciences at Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU) has been invited by the Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (CJFAS) to serve as an Associate Editor-in-Chief.
Founded in 1901, CJFAS is a traditional,internationally authoritative academic journal in the field of aquaticsciences, with its contents covering research on the omics, cells, biology,populations, and ecosystems of aquatic systems. The journal is intended to release timely, accurate, and comprehensive reports on the experience, scientific research achievements, technological innovations, and academic trends of domestic and foreign fishery workers in these fields of scientific research. It encourages the expansion, questioning, or redirection of knowledge accumulatedin the fields of fishery and aquatic sciences. Currently, the journal has an impact factor (IF) of 3.102, a CiteScore index of 4.9, and a journal citation reports (JCR) partition of Q1.
Professor Zhang Fan once served as a special review expert of international fishery organizations such as the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) and the Canadian Department of Oceans and Fisheries (DFO). The appointment of Professor Zhang Fan as Associate Editor-in-Chief indicates that the research of SHOU on marine fishery sciences and technologies has been fully recognized internationally, highlighting the international influence of SHOU and its achievements in “Double First-class”construction.
Professor Zhang Fan serves as the Chinese chief scientist for performance-related scientific affairs of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT), and is a core team member of the International Performance Research Center for Pelagic Fishery of SHOU(the first batch of “National Huang Da’nian-style Teacher Teams in Institutions of Higher Learning”) and a core backbone of the Shanghai Municipal Team for Innovations in Pelagic Fishery Science and Technology Strategies. Over the years, he has devoted himself to scientific research on the sustainable development and utilization of fishery resources. At present, he mainly focuses on the population dynamics of ocean tuna species and the assessment andmanagement of their fishery resources under global climate change.
