Recently, the 21st Joint Conference on Shanghai-Yunnan Collaborative Poverty Alleviation was held in Kunming. To implement the guidelines of the joint conference, further reduce poverty through industrial development, promote the development of fishery industry in Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan, and strengthen cooperation in the fields of special aquaculture, aquatic talent training, scientific and technological training base construction, and so forth as required by the Three-year Action Plan of Shanghai for Targeted Poverty Alleviation in Counterpart Regions, on April 26, SHOU, Qingpu District People’s Government, and Dehong Prefecture People’s Government jointly signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement for Jointly Promoting the Development of Fishery Industry in Dehong Prefecture of Yunnan Province. Present at the signing ceremony were Yu Xufeng, Head of Qingpu District; Wei Gang, Head of Dehong Prefecture; and Zheng Weidong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of SHOU.
SHOU has always attached great importance to supporting poor areas using technology, and effectively served the society by performing its functions as an institution of higher learning. In recent years, SHOU has been providing fisheries science and technology services in Yadong of Tibet, Huanglong of Shaanxi Province, Zunyi of Guizhou Province, and many other regions, with the purpose of realizing targeted poverty alleviation in these regions. On the basis of summarizing the successful experience and smooth cooperation in targeted poverty alleviation in Yadong of Tibet, SHOU has also extended the demonstration effect to assist Tibet, Xinjiang, Yunnan, and other frontier regions in achieving the leapfrog development of fishery industry. The goal is to give full play to science and technology, education, talent, and other advantages, and start a new round of scientific and technological cooperation.
