SHOU Approved as National Food and Nutrition Education Demonstration Base

On March 21, 2019, the 2018-2019 annual work conference of State Food and Nutrition Consultant Committee was held in Beijing. Present at the conference were Tang Huajun, Party group member of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Dean of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Li Qin, Sub-inspector of the Department of Science, Technology, and Education; Huang Xiuzhu, Sub-inspector of the Department of Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Supervision; Wang Wei, Investigator of the Office of Chronic Diseases and Nutrition, the Bureau of Disease Prevention and Control, National Health Commission; Xu Jiao, Director of the Office of Food and Nutrition, the Food Department; Wan Baorui, Honorary Director of State Food and Nutrition Consultant Committee; Chen Mengshan, Director of State Food and Nutrition Consultant Committee, and member of the CPPCC National Committee; and other leaders. Together they conducted work review and deployment focusing on promoting Healthy China construction through food and nutrition transition. The delegation of SHOU led by Zhao Yong, Deputy Dean of the College of Food Science and Technology, attended the meeting, and received the awarding of the plate “National Food and Nutrition Education Demonstration Base”.

SHOU will further bring into play its advantages in food-related disciplines, actively take part in the performance assessment of food nutrition outlines, introduce advanced food and nutrition concepts into communities and schools, and implement the “Healthy China” strategy through practical actions.
