To promote worldwide scientific research on cephalopods, on November 10-16, 2018, the Cephalopod International Advisory Council (CIAC) held the triennial World Academic Conference on Cephalopods in St. Petersburg, Florida of the US. More than 200 cephalopod researchers from 28 countries and regions worldwide took part in the event, and exchanged opinions about the frontiers and hotpots of cephalopod research. At the invitation of CIAC, the College of Marine Sciences sent a four-person delegation, consisting of teachers Liu Bilin, Yu Wei and Fang Zhou and Doctoral candidate Hu Guanyu, attended the conference.
