On November 14, Doctor David Agnew, Executive Secretary of CCAMLR, visited SHOU at the invitation of Pelagic Fishery International Performance Research Center.
SHOU President Cheng Yudong received our guest, introduced the development concepts and training plans for people to become talents at SHOU, and exchanged opinions with Doctor David Agnew about the cooperation between SHOU and CCAMLR. Doctor David Agnew thanked President Cheng for his warm welcome, and, in looking back at the meeting with President Cheng in Hobart in April, he spoke highly of SHOU for its development concepts based on the conservation of marine living resources and environment and expressed his willingness to offer support to SHOU in sending its students into international organizations.
At the meeting of the College of Marine Sciences and the Performance Research Center, Dean Chen Xinjun, professors of the Performance Research Center and Doctor David Agnew engaged in detailed discussion about the development of student internship programs, the teaching of courses by scientists from the Secretariat of CCAMLR, the convocation of international forums by the Performance Research Center jointly with CCAMLR and other regional fishery management organizations of which China is a member, etc.
In the afternoon, the Performance Research Center organized a seminar, themed by “Double First-class” discipline construction between CCAMLR and China.
