Professor Hans-Peter Klenk is a world-renowned microbiologist and aninternational leader of microbial genomics, as well as a fellow of AmericanSociety for Microbiology, a member of Hungarian Society for Microbiology and anhonorary member of Indian Society for Microbiology. He used to serve asDirector of the Department of Microbiology of Deutsche Sammlung vonMikroorganismen und Zellkulturen (DSMZ), and currently serves as Director ofthe Association of Microbial Genomics Standards and Dean of the College of Biologyof Newcastle University. Since 1994, professor Klenk has published more than490 international peer-reviewed papers (SCI source papers), and participated inthe compilation of 25 monograph chapters. His papers have been cited for morethan 15,557 times by Web of Science, and over 22,532 times by Google Scholar;he has also published one paper on Nature, Nature genetics, PNAS and CurrentBiology respectively and three papers on Nucleic acids research, and manyhigh-level papers on Nature, Nature Biotech, Nature communication, PlosBiol,ISME J and other international mainstream journals as a corresponding author ormain author.
