Abstract: In this talk, I will introducethe cryptography in the classical domain using mathematics, and then move toquantum domain where physics is the champion. Within this, I will cover one ofthe weirdest proposed forms of quantum communication which is called counter factualcommunication, a type of quantum communication where no particles travel betweentwo recipients.
About the reporter: Mohammad Dhafer Al-Amrireceived his Master Degree in Physics at the University of Sussex in 2001 andhis Doctoral Degree in Physics at the University of York in 2004, and won theStott Award for the Best Doctoral Dissertation. After that, he was employed asprofessor by the National Center of Applied Physics of KACST. Recently, he hasmade preparations for setting up the Center of Quantum Optics and QuantumInformation (CQOQI). In addition, he is also a researcher at Texas A&MUniversity. In 2012, Doctor Al-Amri became a senior member of the OpticalSociety of America. In 2013, he won the CO/ICTP Gallieno Denardo Award. Hisresearches touch upon the quantum optical lithography and microscopy techniquesof quantum optics and quantum information, as well as weak measurement, directquantum communication and other fields. So far, he has published 65 SCIacademic papers, 35 of which have been published on Physical Review Letters and PhysicalReview A, both as international top journals in the field of physics.
