About the lecturer:
Song Yunfu served as Director of the Foreign Affairs Department of theMinistry of Public Health (now National Health and Family Planning Commission),Director of the International Health Exchange Center, a former diplomat of theWorld Health Organization, and UN reform and partnership coordinator.Currently, he is a visiting professor of Jilin University and a part-timeprofessor of Yangzhou University. He is also a tutor of the InternationalTalent Program Class of Zhejiang University and International Organization TalentDevelopment Program of Peking University, a career planning mentor of Xi'anJiaotong University, as well as expert and a consultant of student societiesfor global governance or international talent development of TsinghuaUniversity, University of International Business and Economics, JilinUniversity, Yangzhou University and Beijing Sport University.
He has 40-year experience in foreign affairs, including 26-yearsexperience in China, such as foreign aid, having visited dozens of countries,participated in bilateral negotiations and national conferences, receivedvisiting delegations and arranged state leaders meeting with foreign guests,and 14-year experience in international organizations, such as takingresponsibility for WHO fund-raising, foreign relations, senior visits and otherwork.
He has written China’s first monograph Be An International CivilServant”, prepared the textbook Serving as international civil servantsand with international organizations, and co-written New diplomaticetiquette for civil servants”. Upon invitation by governmental agencies, suchas the Central Organization Department, the Ministry ofForeign Affairs and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, hegives lessons on the Training Course for Reserve Talents of InternationalOrganizations. Also upon invitation by the Ministry of Education and theMinistry of Human Resources and Social Security, he attends the nationaluniversity-wide speaking tours on “encouraging and supporting the universitystudents to go for their internship with international organizations”, havinggiven more than 100 lectures for state organs, colleges and universities acrossthe country.
