About the lecturer: Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the International Institute of Social Studies, and Director of Regional Economic Research Center of Hiroshima University; mainly engaged in researches on regional economy, local finance and local government; having had more than 40 related academic papers published, among which the representative ones include Failure of Decentralization and Unsuitability of Do-shu-System, Finance of the Municipalities of Japan after 2000, etc. In this lecture, he introduced in details the background and trends of local government reform in Japan in recent years, and engaged in exchange and discussion about the trends of political and economic reforms worldwide, which presented some reference and enlightenment for local administrative reform in China.
