Invited by Cook Government, SHOU delegation visited Cook Islands to attend the 8-day event about investigating the marine resources and technological support for seawater breeding.
During the visit, SHOU delegation investigated the local black pearl farms, milkfish farms, eel farms, mud crab farms and giant clamshell farms. Moreover, they investigated the marine resources in Cook island’s lakes, especially the collection and analysis of echinoderm, seaweed (coccoloba) and marine shellfish resources which play an important role in developing and using marine resources appropriately.
SHOU delegation and Cook government were under negotiation about the varied technology cooperation and talents exchange. Meanwhile, based on technological support for seawater breeding, the two parties have determined to develop a joint event on marine science research and cultural exchange.
