SHOU Leaders Visited National Taiwan Ocean University

In order to strengthen the cooperation with National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) and National Penghu University (NPU), a delegation of 5 SHOU representatives headed by Vice President Huang Shuolin visited the two universities in Taiwan recently.

On April 19th, 2013, Professor Xiao Quanyuan, President of NPU received SHOU delegation headed by Vice President Huang Shuolin, and extended his warm welcome for the visit to NPU. The two parties exchanged their views about short-term exchange of postgraduates, credit recognition, summer student exchange, staff training and research collaboration, etc, and reaching consensus on these issues. After the meeting, President Xiao Quanyuan accompanied SHOU delegation to visit the teaching and research facilities including aquaculture lab, aquatic life lab, and wind power lab.
 
On April 20th, 2013, SHOU delegation headed by Vice President Huang Shuolin visited NTOU, and was received by President Zhang Qingfeng, Vice President Li Xuanshi and Professor Chen Yaohu, Director of International Cooperation, etc. The two parties confirmed on the achievement in academic exchange in the long history of collaboration, expecting to have more diversified communication in the future. Furthermore, the two parties have explored further about the collaboration with Miaoli county government, and reached consensus on the possibility of SHOU postgraduates’ short-term visit to NTOU and participation of the summer “Translation Agriculture” program in NTOU, and the possibility of NTOU postgraduates’ participation in the annual “Graduate Summer School” and “Doctoral Candidate Academic Forum” in SHOU.
 
In general, the communication with NTOU and NPU has broadened the collaboration pattern with the two universities, resulting in diversified communication and exchange modes for graduates, which will provide a great platform for SHOU graduates to broaden their vision.
