      Dr. Vivian Wu is Concentrated in Biochemistry, Microbiology and Molecular Biology. She has been the Assistant professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at the University of Maine, Cooperating Assistant professor at the Department of Biochemistry, and the cooperating Chief Scientist and Expert in the Zhejiang Test Academy of Food Quality and Science at Zhejiang University. She has served as an Ad hoc proposal reviewer for federal research programs: USDA-NRI competitive grant; USDA SCRP competitive grant; USDA ARS project plan, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada competitive grant etc. 
      Dr. Vivian Wu is carrying on the Developing biosensors and food defense technologies including early detection, enumeration, identification, and characterization of bio-weapons in environment, farm, and food, discovering functional ingredients from natural fruit, plant, and microorganisms to protect human health and developing value-added food products, Developing novel disinfection technologies or strategies to eliminate microbial contaminations. She has been appointed at the member of AOAC INTERNATIONAL Task Force on Best Practices in Microbiological Methodology (BPMM) – Detection Limits Working Group, Editorial Board in the Journal of Rapid Methods and Automation in Microbiology, and Elected at the treasurer of Chinese American Food Society.
