ABATRACT: Japan has about 18 species of freshwater mussels (Unionidae and Margaritiferidae). Biwa Lake, ancient lake has many endemic species, especially mollusk. But their origin is unknown well. The aim of this study is to reveal the phylogenetic relationship between endemic species and their sister species using molecular marker.
